JJJJound has put a new Danner collaboration on its own previews page, listed under JJJJ Danner FW26 with a dated post from October 26: a Mountain Light in two builds, Black in smooth leather and Charcoal in suede. Hypebeast reports that both boots keep the original Mountain Light build, with Vibram outsoles, polished silver eyelets, tonal laces and woven JJJJound tags on the tongues. No release date or price is out yet.
The pairing goes back to 2020. JJJJound's project page for that release records a Mountain Light in waterproof suede with a GORE-TEX liner, sold online at 400 USD from November 20, 2020, cut from Danner's original early-1980s Mountain Light pattern with a heel pull tab added, and still fully manufactured in Portland, Oregon.
The new boots are not on the index yet. Danner returns 38 listings on Elusive, 18 of them Mountain Light builds, and the boot is already stocked near home: a dr-adams Mountain Light at 3,600 DKK and a Harresø GORE-TEX build at 3,403 DKK. JJJJound itself returns 29 listings, from Gel-Kayano 14 collaborations at 150 EUR up to a 647 EUR pair. When the tongue-tag boots surface, they will be the first jjjjound x Danner pair on the board.
